New life for NUR Blueboards: watch ISI’s

Huntsville, AL– April 5, 2007 — Innovative Solutions INX (ISI), the recently formed digital technology arm of INX International Ink Co. with its acquisition of Innovative Solutions, Inc., will debut the ISIJet BlueStreak™ UV upgrade for NUR Blueboard printers during ISA, April 11 – 14, 2007. 

ISI will be in the Triangle Digital INX Co. (TDI) booth — #4454 — at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Hotel and Conference Center.  TDI is the leading global supplier of inks and related products for virtually every type of digital printer and print-head technology — and Innovative Solutions INX’ teammate in INX International’s expanded digital products- and integrated-services offering.

Technology Preview reveals high-speed, low-cost, field-upgradeable system that makes old units better-than-new.

“The BlueStreak UV printing system turns proven NUR Blueboard HiQ machines into far more productive, modern units,” asserts Jim Lambert, President of Innovative Solutions INX.  “It runs at print speeds up to 1000 ft2 per hour.  It uses advanced, wide-gamut, high-adhesion UV inks with instant UV curing — all for about one-third the cost of competing systems.”

“Our BlueStreak upgrade kit, designed to utilize patented Spectra™ printer control technology, does the trick,” notes Randy LaCaze, ISI’s Chief Technical Officer (TCO).  “There’s no need for users to scrap their Blueboard investment; we simply transform it into a high quality UV printer that uses time-proven media handling and mechanical systems.  “What’s more, there’s no costly shipping or heavy equipment handling; no additional facility space needed.  And existing spare parts are still usable.”

Blueboard owners at ISA invited to schedule “Benchmark Demos.”

“Although ISA visitors could see the BlueStreak perform on video and/or in the booth itself,” Lambert states, “Blueboard owners can also schedule a Benchmark Demo at our Huntsville facility where they can see for themselves how quickly the BlueStreak can run their own jobs, using their types of media — and also more fully assess the output quality that this UV system upgrade provides.”

Excellent output on a variety of substrates; environmentally friendlier inks.

Users can expect excellent results on vinyl, self-stick, mesh paper and other hard-to-print materials.  BlueStreak also allows running more than one media roll, boosting productivity on panelized work.

“Operators and technicians get up-to-speed quickly on BlueStreak’s UV system,” LaCaze adds.  “Also, this unit much more environmentally friendly, with low-VOC inks replacing MEK-based inks.”
